Transport Sector Players Call for Protection

Transport sector players have called for the enacting of special laws to protect their workers – after a rise in complaints of mistreatment by traffic police officers.
These sector players – who largely fall within the informal sector, also want the creation of a special authority to manage road transport. This position was reached at this morning in a meeting organized by the International Transport Federation and the Amalgamated Transport and General WORKERS Union of Uganda in Kampala.
