SAGE Phase II Rolls Out

Government has defended the delayed implementation of the second phase of the senior citizens grant saying structural improvements within the system deemed it necessary to ease receipt of money by the beneficiaries. Rolling out of the over UGX 200m grant began after release of the 2016/17 budget. The 2nd phase will target 226,000 people but it comes with a stringent selection criteria for beneficiaries.
