One of Uganda’s largest Central Forest Reserve – Budongo in Hoima district is on the verge of extinction after the Kingdom of Bunyoro allegedly illegally leased over 8000 hectares to a private company for Sugar cane growing.
The National Forestry Authority’s efforts to stop the encroachment have so far failed to yield fruit as the destruction continues unabated.
