Kabale HIV/AIDS Prevalence Still High

While Uganda is generally making great strides in the fight against HIV/ AIDS, Kabale district still lies among the districts with the highest prevalence rate posting at a bout is 5.9% according to the 2014 national stakeholders report. According to the District Health Commissioner, the most affected towns in the district are Katuna town council, Muhanga Town Council and Kabale Municipality where new infection rate at is high due to unprotected commercial sex trade. Reach A Hand – Uganda, a youth NGO in partnership with NBS has been successfully carried an outreach programe meant to sensitise people on protected sex and abstinence.
