Makerere University Students Riot

Makerere University students this morning joined their lecturers in staging a demonstration; protesting against continued missing of classes. The Military Police was deployed to buttress efforts by the Uganda Police in controlling the rioters from leaving the University.
The students’ demonstration followed yesterday’s lecturers’ meeting which resolved to continue with a sit down strike called last week.
