Expansion Plans Failing Supermarkets

The increasing number of retail shops in the country is believed to be pushing big supermarkets out of business. The trend is being blamed on the high cost of commodities in most supermarkets that has pushed buyers to relatively cheaper shops and people’s changing lifestyles. Economist Salima Nakiboneka says all is not lost for supermarkets, only if they focus on cost cutting, customer relations and managing expansion ambitions.
