Trees Lost in Adjumani to Settlement

Over fifteen million trees have been lost in Adjumani district to pave way for the resettlement of the growing number of refugees from South Sudan. Already the district is experiencing the negative effects of environmental degradation as wetlands, forests and river banks have not been spared either. In some areas, the soils have lost fertility due to over cultivation and over-grazing because some refugees came along with their cattle;
