The Judicial Service commission is recommending that the president appoints two retired judges or those at the verge of retirement to a two-year term in service to bridge the gap at the supreme court which is currently short by three judges. This is in part of their suggestions to the president for appointment of new judicial officers to fill various gaps from the supreme court to the grade one magistrates’ court. The commission chairman is however skeptical on lifting of the judicial officer’s age limit saying this may make absorption of law school graduates very hard.
