Tightens On Illegal Dealers, Goods Intercepted, Culprits Arrested

Uganda Revenue Authority has warned traders against dealing with unscrupulous individuals in the clearance of their goods at rates, lower than the official fee charged by certified clearing agents. URA’s assistant commissioner in charge of enforcement Agnes Nabwire, such dealings have led many traders into trouble with the tax body, resulting into confiscation of their goods. This after the authority arrested several people with forged documents and smuggled goods.
