Karuma Hydropower Dam Nears Completion

Just days after the NRM caucus in Parliament rejected the land amendment proposals; State Energy Minister Engineer Simon D’Ujanga insists that article 26 should be amended. The amendments were intended to grant government powers for compulsory acquisition of private land for development projects. But D’Ujanga warns that it is going to be difficult for Uganda to takeoff if the status quo remains.
