Isingiro District Operation to Save Wetlands

At least 13 hectares of eucalyptus trees have been cut down in Isingiro district in an operation to revive the degraded wetlands. The operation was commanded by the district chairperson, Jeremiah Kamurari and other local leaders. Some people whose properties and crops have been destroyed are crying foul while others welcome the move saying the restoration process will relieve them from drought stress, which they encountered previously.
