Farmers Urged on Protecting Indigenous Seeds

Farmers of indigenous crops should start village seed banks in the form of small gardens to conserve indigenous crop varieties that are disappearing fast. This According to Barbra Zawedde, the Director of Uganda Biosciences Information Centre at NARO. It is reported indigenous crop varieties are being lost from farmers due to drought and change in climatic conditions, yet they are nutritious and demanded by many Ugandans.
