UPDF Defends Heavy Deployment in Kasese

The Uganda People’s Defense Forces says the continued deployment of the force in the region is because of the threat of the largely defunct Allied Democratic Forces whom they allege are camped in the area. At the first anniversary of the army’s attack on Rwenzururu Kingdom’s Palace, deployment of soldiers is still evident, with a section of leaders saying this is instilling fear. Army spokesperson, Brig. Richard Karemire was speaking at the pipping ceremony of the recently promoted officers.
