URA Defies Museveni Order on Taxing Scholastic Material

The Uganda Revenue Authority has imposed a 18% VAT on counter books, ruled papers and duplicating papers. This means that at the beginning of next term(2), one will have to ask a lot from their pockets than previous to return their school going children to school. Meanwhile manufacturers and dealers in scholastic materials are already opposed to the 18% VAT
