Religion a Key Factor in Rukungiri By-election

The by-election to choose the Rukungiri district Woman Member of Parliament has been flawed by claims that Forum for Democratic Change and the Catholic Church are urging all Catholics to shun NRM’s Winnie Matsiko on polling day. FDC meanwhile has denied the accusations – instead blaming NRM for towing the religious line in the hunt for votes in Thursday’s elections.
