Kampala capital city Authority has cancelled this year’s festival to use the funds for education and health. The city’s executive Director Jennifer Musisi says the resources used to organize the three days street party in October will be wisely spent on schools and hospitals. The announcement comes less than a month to the D-day. Musisi says it was not logical to spend millions of shillings on entertainment when the city is grappling with social service issues like schools and hospitals. KCCA says, part of the resources mobilized this year will go towards the establishment of a maternity ward at Kiswa health center in Nakawa Division The event that had drawn much attention to city dwellers has been running since 2012.
