URA Warns Against Shortcuts In Clearing Goods

Quite often unscrupulous dealers who claim to be clearing agents have fleeced many importers of huge sums of money. These mainly take advantage of importers and exporters’ ignorance in respect to the clearing process. Stephen Magera the Assistant Commissioner Field services at the Uganda revenue Authority is urging importers to crosscheck with the tax body on different clearing agents before doing business.
