Following reports of a kidnapping of an American tourist Kimberly Sue and her driver Jean Paul last week in Queen Elizabeth National Park, the Minister of Tourism Professor Ephraim Kamuntu was pleased to announce the safe rescue earlier today.
Reports surfaced that the kidnappers were demanding $500,000 for their safe return. It is unconfirmed that the ransom was paid but according to Proffessor Ephraim it was a joint security operation that brought about their safe return. Details on the operation are still unknown and the circumstances of their kidnapping.
The minister went on to assure during a press conference that it is an isolated case and it should not discourage anyone from visiting the country.
