African Gold Refinery Commissioned

The first gold refinery in sub-Saharan Africa has been commissioned in Uganda.
The African Gold refinery located in Entebbe is expected to produce up to 99.99 % pure gold for both export and home consumption.
President Museveni while commissioning the refinery also scraped off all royalty taxes on Gold, saying this has been depriving the country of revenue and encouraging smuggling in oil rich areas.
