Are Kingdoms Still Relevant 55 Years After Independence?

The post-independence Uganda…is it a state, a monarchy or a combination of the two. Uganda got her independence on the 9th of October, a day after Buganda kingdom got her independence. The two subsisted then alongside other kingdoms of bunyoro and toro. Today independence Uganda exists alongside several kingdoms and chiefdom rising the question of what would be the definite identity of Uganda.
