KCCA FC a step away from the first round of the CAF Champions League with win over Primeiro de Agosto.
KCCA FC defeated Primeiro de Agosto, 1-0 in the first leg of the CAF Champions League preliminaries held at the Phillip Omondi stadium, Lugogo.
The result means that the Uganda Premier League table leaders are now just one step from the first round of the preliminary stages of this year’s expanded CAF Champions League.
This was the first continental match that was played at the Phillip Omondi stadium, and the hosts will be lucky the result played to their advantage.
Geoffrey Sserunkuma headed in a Brian Majwega corner kick in the forty-eighth minute to give KCCA FC the win.

KCCA FC will now travel to Angola next week for the second leg that will be played on February 19th and a win or draw will set them against defending Champions, Mamelodi sundowns for a slot in the Group stages.
Starting from this season, the group stages of the competition will be expanded from eight to 16 teams, divided into four groups of four.
