The Cranes are set to play two build up matches before the AFCON qualifiers feat away to Cape Verde.

The Uganda Cranes today departed for Ethiopia, where they will be having their first test match ahead of their AFCON 2019 Qualifiers Match against Cape Verde.

A team of seventeen players and six officials today afternoon left the Entebbe International airport aboard flight ET 333 for Addis Ababa from where they will take a domestic flight to Hawassa.

The Cranes play a friendly match against the Walias of Ethiopia on Saturday, before setting off for Senegal.

The team has been undergoing training under Coach Micho and played two friendly matches before the final traveling team was named.

The Cranes played against the Copa Coca-Cola select team at the Phillip Omondi Stadium before KCCA FC at Namboole yesterday.

The team managed a 6-1 thrashing of the School lads before a 1-0 penalty win against League Champions, KCCA FC.

The team of travelling players was named yesterday and included two Goalkeepers,

five defenders, six midfielders and five strikers.

Among these are;

Goalkeepers: Ismail Watenga (Vipers), Said Keni (Proline)

Defenders: Nicholas Wadada (Vipers), Murushid Juuko (Simba, Tanzania), Hassan Wasswa Mawanda (Nijemh, Lebanon), Godfrey Walusimbi (Gor Mahia), Savio Kabugo (Proline)

Midfielders: Aucho Khalid (Red Star, Serbia), Crizestom Ntambi (Jimma Aba Buna, Ethiopia), Deus Bukenya (Vipers), Martin Kizza (SC Villa), Robert Kakeeto (Aalborg, Denmark), Bernard Muwanga (SC Villa)

Forwards: Emmanuel Okwi (SC Villa), Nelson Senkatuka (Proline), Muhammad Shaban (Onduparaka), Milton Kariisa (Vipers), Faruku Miya (Standard Leige, on loan to Royal Excel Mouscron)
