"I Am The Legally Elected President", Besigye

Former FDC presidential candidate Rtd Col. Dr. Kiiza Besigye has confessed to the treason related charges levied against him. Appearing before the Nakawa Chief Magistrates Court earlier today Dr. Besigye told court presided over by chief magistrate James Eryeme Mawanda that he had indeed been sworn in as President of Uganda as seen in an online video because he believes that he is the rightful winner of the February Presidential polls. He was quick to add that he didn’t consider his actions treasonable. The case, which was up for mention, could not proceed because the chief magistrates’ court has no jurisdiction to try or rule on capital offenses.
