Martin Munyua is an award-winning director (SIGNIS Awards at the ZIFF Festival of the Dhow Countries 2006) and director of photography (KALASHA awards, 2011) and creator of the on-going TV show Dads Can Cook (winner at DISCOP 2012, SA).
With over 20 years of experience in film and TV as a cinematographer, director and editor, Martin Munyua cut his teeth in the film-making industry early on as a student in Rome, and perfected his combination of lighting techniques in cinematography as well as his unique approach to directing.
Martin Munyua has experience working with most 35mm/16mm film and HD cameras, as well as the complete range of lighting equipment and tools. He is also comfortable working on or line-producing TV shows, dramas, commercials, docu-dramas and documentaries. Martin Munyua understands broad cultures and is fluent in English, Italian, Bulgarian and Swahili.
Martin Munyua holds an Global Executive MBA from the United States International University (USIU) – Nairobi, Kenya. He also holds a BS, Social Communications (Magna cum Laude) Pontificia Università Gregoriana – Rome, Italy and a Graduate Diploma, in Cinematography from the Istituto di Stato per la Cinematografia e la Televisione “R. Rossellini” in Rome, Italy.
