Torture Trend Takes New Twist in Uganda

The African center for treatment and rehabilitation of torture victims has noted a changing trend in torture perpetration with increased public involvement through acts of mob justice and psychological torture by security operatives. The center says the trend is largely being driven by the decreasing faith by public in the country’s justice system while security operatives try to escape physical impacts, which can easily be identified.
