The Gishu community in Uganda and Kenya is in final touches of organizing this year’s edition of the Imbalu cultural festivities. At least 700 surgeons have been recruited from across the country.
These are to be tested for HIV/AIDS and other contagious diseases before they are allowed to initiate boys into manhood. The month long exercise starts 6th August to 6th September 2016 in all parts of the two countries where the Bagishu have a presence.
