After fifty years of operation, bank of Uganda has prided itself in controlling the country’s annual inflation which now averages 6.9 percent. This is in stark contrast to the period between 1981 and 1992 when inflation hit 93 percent.
Prof Emmanuel Tumusiime Mutebile, the Central Bank Governor says this has been possible through a strengthened monitory policy framework which provides for sophisticated approaches to control inflation. Professor Mutebile made the remarks this morning during the Bank’s golden jubilee celebrations in Kampala.
