The United States government has urged Ugandan businessmen to open up to the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) as one of the ways to improve the country’s export earnings. America is concerned that Ugandans have not taken huge interest in exporting to the United States under the program.
The American government is currently reviewing Uganda’s eligibility to AGOA but US envoy Deborah Malac is optimistic the East African country will be retained on the program given the warm relations between the two governments.
