Banking Sector to Venture into Insurance

The banking sector will from next month begin providing insurance services where bank clients will no longer have to leave the bank and seek insurance in other companies. According to the Executive Director of the Insurance Regulatory Authority,Ibrahim Kaddunabbi, the move is to tap into the banks’ large customer base so as to increase on insurance penetration which stands at a worrying rate of 0.85 percent.
