Kwoyelo’s Defense Team Rejects Judge

Lawyers to the former Lord’s Resistance Army commander Thomas Kwoyelo have challenged the legality of Justice Suzan Okalany of the High Court in Gulu to hear their client’s pretrial – maintaining she is not among the judges of the International Crimes Division of the High Court. In a ruling after a prolonged hearing however, Justice Okalany said she had the qualifications to handle the controversial case although she is not one of the judges of the specialized Division of the High Court.
