Government Earmarks 24 Billion to Fight Ticks

The Uganda government has set aside 24 billion shillings to fight ticks and tick born diseases that are claiming hundreds of livestock across the country. Prime minister Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda blames the current situation on continued importation of substandard acaricide drug that is tick resistant. The Uganda Premier has now tasked the Uganda National Bureau of standards to crack a whip on importers of fake drugs.
