Police Foils Opposition Independence Rally

The Police have foiled opposition parallel independence rallies in Kampala, arresting several opposition figures including Makindye East MP Allan Ssewanyana. Ssewanyana was arrested early Sunday morning at his home in Makindye and taken to unknown destination. He was accused of defying Police orders that barred him from attending prayers in Katwe, presided over by Cardinal Emmanuel Wamala.
