Kabale University Closed Over Strike

Kabale University in Western Uganda has been closed following the ongoing strike by students over lack of lectures. University Vice Chancellor Professor Joy Kwesiga confirms to NBS that they University will remain closed until further notice, saying that the strike puts the University at risk. Police meanwhile remains heavily deployed at the University to avert a repeat of yesterday’s incident in which it fired tear gas to quell the angry students.
