Lwera: The Controversial Sandmining Site

The media has for the last few weeks been awash with reports of renowned pastor Samuel Kakande illegally mining sand in Lwera along Masaka road, under his Aqua World Uganda Company.
The controversy is mainly over the fact that the company which has been operating for the last two years had initially got a NEMA permit to carry out fish farming.
It is reported that work was stopped and pastor Kakande apologized for the illegal excavations.
