Mental Health Rights: Butabika Faulted for Seclusion

Former patients at Butabika National mental referral hospital are accusing the facility of violating the rights of patients with aggressive behavior. These say, Uganda’s largest psychiatric hospital continues to struggle with proper treatment of such patients, thus relying on physical restraints by confining them for hours.
