Agricultural Officials Blamed for Poor Sector Performance

The Ministry of Agriculture officials have come under heavy attack for allegedly shirking their responsibilities towards the sector and for making farmers even poorer. Experts attribute this to the negative attitude of some officials and laxity in their work with majority still relying on outdated traditional farming practices that continue to cost farmers. But in response to what is now threatening farm production, government has embarked on training top ministry officials and district production officers to improve service delivery.
