Chinese Company to Refund shs1.8Billion

The Committee on State Authorities and State Enterprises (COSASE) has ordered a Chinese contractor, CICO to refund to Uganda National Roads Authority over 1.8 billion shillings, which they were paid irregularly in compensation.
The Committee says the company wrongly claimed for this compensation under the guise that National Environmental Management Authority delayed to approve the quarry operations, which affected the contractor.
