Ministry Of Education – Makerere Medical Interns’ Row Deepens

A war has erupted between the Ministry of Education and Sports and medical intern doctors from the closed Makerere University. The doctors protest the ministry’s directive that they return to working in the hospitals although the University is closed for the foreseeable future.
The interns – all Masters’ students maintain they are not paid for the work by government and will therefore not continue rendering services when their mother institution is closed.
