Uganda’s Industrialization Still Low- Minister

Uganda’s economy has not significantly transformed from agricultural to an industrialized economy despite 20 years of uninterrupted growth. The low industrialization is being blamed on the widening trade deficit, with imports exceeding exports. Trade, Industry and Cooperatives Minister Amelia Kyambadde says the situation is worsened by companies’ failure to form clusters to lobby for funding to stimulate growth.
