Traders Seeking Alternative Port Due to 2017 Kenyan Elections

As the Kenyan Elections draws closers, Ugandan exporters and importers are worried about the security and safety of their Cargo during and in the aftermath of the 2017 polls. During the 2007 elections, over 16 Ugandan traders saw their trucks and good worth millions of shillings destroyed along the Northern Corridor. Traders under their umbrella body Uganda Shipper Council are now considering an alternative route, with focus on Tanzania’s central corridor.
