Rice Growers Call For Government Protection

Large scale rice farmers in Northern Uganda have tasked government to control the importation of rice to boost local production and consumption.
The three main farmers; which also act as demonstration farms for material developed by the National Agricultural Research Organization told NBS imported rice is affecting local production efforts – and the country’s earnings.
