Researchers Introduce Drought Resistant Maize Varieties

Uganda targets to increase her maize production from 5 million tons to 7.5 million tons in the next five years. This follows the introduction drought resistant maize varieties by a team of researchers from the National Research Organization. The new varieties come at a time when the country faced with a prolonged drought that has left majority farmers counting losses.
