Drought Resistant Maize Variety Introduced

District leaders in Kasese are crying over the outbreak of maize stem borer and cassava brown streak diseases that have left farmers with nothing to harvest. According to the Kasese district chairman Geoffrey Sibendire this has not only threatened the lives of the farmers but increases the poverty levels in the area. Currently Uganda loses over 86 and 90 billion shillings to maize stem borers and cassava brown streak disease respectively every year.
