Forest Encroachment Worries Residents

Environmental activists have warned of a looming wiping out of forests in the oil rich Bunyoro Kingdom following uncontrolled encroachment by high ranking government officials and businessmen who allegedly sponsor illegal lumbering. The warning comes as Uganda prepares to celebrate the World Forest day on Tuesday – a day meant to raise awareness on the dangers the planet faces due to deforestation.
