Tension is mounting on Isingiro district leaders following controversial directives put in place by the district chairman Jeremiah Kamurari. Some of the district top leaders have threatened to resign should government fail to act immediately to have the trend reversed.
Kamurari is accused of directing locals in the district to open up cattle markets which were recently closed by the Agriculture minister Vincent Ssempijja. The markets were closed following reports of foot and mouth disease outbreak in the district.
