Government Vows Not to Extend Simcard Verification Deadline This Time

Government has maintained its position to switch off all unregistered simcards come 19th May 2017 despite cries from the public to have the deadline extended further.
Following a meeting at the Uganda Communications Commission, the minister for security Lt. Gen. Henry Tumukunde said any adjustments on this position will put the public in a comfort zone yet there a number of security loopholes to close up, all based on simcard registration.
