The Story of a UPDF Officer


With a force of about 45,000 officers and men, the Uganda People’s Defense Forces has groomed its men and women in uniform not only to serve the country but also train the soldiers to be productive. As Uganda celebrates Labour Day the UPDF is not only priding itself in maintaining security but helping boost the productivity and economy of the country.
Sheila Tusiime Mugisha spoke to lance corporal Sam Mugwangya who has served in the force since 2008 and has no regrets about his years of service.
