Uganda Plans to Construct Electric Railway

Just days after Kenya launched its phase one of the Standard Gauge Railway, Uganda says the project in Uganda is on course to ensure that the country gets the first phase of the standard gauge railway at the most appropriate time.
The Standard Gauge Railway project coordinator, Eng Kasingye Kyamugambi is however doubts constructionwill begin this year, as talks are still on to receive money from China’s Exim Bank. The Eastern Route from Malaba to Kampala will be the first to be constructed and estimated to cost 2.3 billion US dollars, although compensation along the proposed route has not been done;
