Economists are advising government not to grant judges and other public servants a pay rise, saying it will deplete the economy and stifle development projects. They warn that the country’s economy is small and if tempered with by increasing public servants’ salary as demanded, it will increase the recurrent budget. Currently, judges, prosecutors, local government officials, among other public servants have given government an ultimatum to raise salaries or they strike.
