LC Pollss: CCEDU to Petition Court

Civil society organizations are threatening to petition the constitutional court seeking amendment of the local government act. The civil society is protesting the recently approved method of voting, which requires Ugandans to line up behind the preferred candidates as opposed to the secret ballot in the forthcoming local council elections. Crispy Kaheru, the executive director Citizen’s Coalition for Electoral Democracy says lining up behind candidates is archaic. Sheila Tusiime Mugisha reports.
